Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate how improved mobility through reachingbased scapular treatment effects antigravity posture and functional arm movement.

Methods The subject is a 50 years old man who is a Lt.
hemiplegia patient four months after the onset. The intervention was conducted five times a week for two weeks for one hour each. For antigravity posture evaluation, linear posture alignment analysis and Functional Reaching Test (FRT) were performed through photography, and Korean version of the FuglMeyer Assessment scale (KFMA) was used for functional arm movement test.

Results FRT increased by 8cm after intervention, and in FMA it improved by 5points in the flexor synergy, 1 point in the shoulder bending, 1point in the Shoulder abduction, and 1 point in the Shoulder flexion. After intervention, the posture approached the midline and pain of the scapula decreased a lot.

Conclusion Armreachingbased scapular treatment is considered effective in improving antigravity posture and arm function in stroke patients.
